Big Air lathe turned 21" L x 11.5" W African Makore Manta Ray Box with Wenge Lid
· Large Elegant Natural Wood Manta Ray Lidded Box
· Beautiful and functional - sculptural piece with hidden box.
· I carefully sculpt the undulating wings of each Manta Ray box and lid on the lathe at 2500 rpm. As you can imagine, the large spinning Manta wings are nearly invisible like airplane propellers as I apply my cutting tools. It's exhilarating in action!
· I hollow out the box and meticulously sand the entire piece to an incredibly smooth surface.
· Finally I sign the piece, finish with Danish Oil & triple buff.
