Spirit Birds ~ Elegantly engaging wings of imagination.
- This 23" Wingspan Quilted Maple Spirit Bird features a beautiful marble made by glass artist Phillip Nolley.
- I carefully sculpt the elegant wings of each Spirit Bird on the lathe at 2500 rpm with hand held cutting tools, exhilarating!
- Then hollow out the center cavity to an absolute perfect depth and diameter to receive the artisan glass marble, and meticulously sand the entire piece to an incredibly smooth surface before capturing the marble with tolerances that allow the marble to rotate and spin.
- Finally I sign each piece, finish with clear organic oil and wax/buff.
- The Spirit Bird with captured art glass sphere reminds us of the illimitable and inimitable potential (spirit) within each of us.
