Tiger Maple Spirit Bird with Captured Marble. 16" wingspan.
· I carefully sculpt the elegant wings of each Spirit Bird on the lathe at 2500 rpm with hand held cutting tools, exhilarating!
· Then hollow out the center cavity to an absolute perfect depth and diameter to receive the artisan glass marble, and meticulously sand the entire piece to an incredibly smooth surface before capturing the marble with tolerances that allow the marble to rotate and spin.
· This Tiger Maple Spirit Bird features a beautiful marble made by Phillip Nolley.
· Finally I sign each piece, finish with clear organic oil & wax/buff.
